Our Story
My name is Matthew Scott, though most people call me Matt.
I didn’t start Dirt Work Disciples because I had a great business idea. I started it because Jesus Christ
changed my life, and I could no longer ignore that truth.
The man I am today is not the man I used to be. I lived a sinful life. I made more mistakes than I can
count. I walked through seasons of anxiety, depression, and darkness so heavy that I attempted to end
my life three different times. Every attempt failed. Looking back, it’s clear that wasn’t luck — it was
mercy.
I’ve survived two vehicle wrecks that should have taken my life. In one of them, I remember feeling a
hand hold me in the driver’s seat. When everything stopped, my truck was wrapped around a tree —
crushed everywhere except the driver’s seat. Moments like that don’t happen by accident. There is a
reason I’m still here.
I didn’t always live for God, but His presence followed me long before I ever followed Him. Now,
I’ve surrendered fully. I’ve accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior completely and
unconditionally. I’ve always been a hard worker — the kind of man who gets the job done — but I now
understand where that strength came from. It wasn’t me. It was Him.
I’ve learned that God doesn’t do His best work in comfort. He works in the dirt — in the unseen,
humbling places where pride is stripped away and faith is formed. Just as man was created from dust,
disciples are shaped through surrender, obedience, and trust.
Since giving my life to Christ, the storms that once drowned me no longer hold the same power. When
worry rises, I pray — and He answers.
Dirt Work Disciples is not about a job title, toughness, or image. It is about discipleship. The clothing is
simply a vessel — a way to carry the message, start conversations, and point people back to Christ.
I’m not building this to glorify myself. I’m building it to glorify God and to remind anyone who wears it
that the work He’s doing in them — even when it’s painful, slow, or unseen — matters.
From dust.
By grace.
For His glory.
